Typical Price
One of Koson's most whimsical and beloved compositions, depicting foxes in an enchanting dance. Early editions range from $2,000-$6,000, while later printings settle around $1,000-$3,000. The subject's rarity among Koson's predominantly bird-focused oeuvre adds a premium that keeps demand consistently strong.
Description
A group of foxes dance under a night sky illuminated by mysterious foxfire. This print draws on the rich Japanese folklore tradition of shape-shifting foxes (kitsune) and their nocturnal revels. Koson renders the scene with a blend of naturalistic animal depiction and supernatural atmosphere, the foxes'' forms caught in mid-movement against a dark, moonlit landscape.
