Kamei Tobei

Kamei Tobei (亀井東平, 1901–1977) was a Japanese woodblock print artist who produced landscape prints within the shin-hanga tradition during the mid-twentieth century. Born in 1901, Kamei worked as a print designer producing views of Japanese landscapes, though his output was modest and his career is not extensively documented in the standard references on shin-hanga.

Kamei's prints depict Japanese scenic views, including rural landscapes, temple settings, and natural scenery, rendered in the atmospheric style characteristic of the shin-hanga school.
